Diogenes Laertius lived between 200-250 CE, possibly from Laerte or Roman family. He wrote "Lives of Eminent Philosophers" compiling biographies of 100 philosophers. His work contains quotations from Thales to late second century CE. He collected information from hundreds of sources, many of which are lost
