Horsens is a city on Denmark's east coast, with 63,903 inhabitants as of 2024. Located 50 km south of Aarhus and 30 km north of Vejle. Name derived from Danish words "hors" (horse) and "næs" (headland)
Akaa was established in 1483 as a church parish. Municipality status was granted in 1870. Three town centres were consolidated in 2007-2011. As of 2017, the municipality has 16,892 inhabitants
