Founded in 1899 as Imperial Czech Technical School in Brno. Initially focused on civil engineering, later expanded to multiple fields. Moved to new building in 1911, connected with German technical school. Reopened after WWII as University of Technology of Dr. E. Benes. Became independent in 1951, reorganized in 1961
BAU has Erasmus code TR ISTANBU08 and 24,772 students. University has 9 faculties and 4 graduate schools. Currently has 175 Erasmus and 25 World Exchange agreements
