Aphasia affects language use and understanding due to brain damage. Main types are fluent (Wernicke's, Conduction) and nonfluent (Broca's, Global). Fluent aphasia causes normal speech flow but impaired meaning. Nonfluent aphasia shows stuttering and phrase fragmentation
