Game involves 2 players calling rock, paper, or scissors simultaneously. Stronger element wins over weaker one. Cumulative best out of 3 rounds determines winner
Game originated in China during Han dynasty (206 BC-AD 220). Known as "Roshambo" in Northern California, possibly from French "Jon Ken Pon". Game spread through Japan, evolving from sansukumi-ken to modern Jan-ken
Rock is most frequently thrown (35.4%), followed by scissors (29.6%). Men tend to lead with rock, women with scissors. Players who play same move twice are unlikely to repeat it
Players make rock (closed fist), paper (flat hand), or scissors (V-shaped fingers). Game ends in draw or win depending on player's hand shape. Rock beats scissor but loses to paper. Paper beats rock but loses to scissor. Scissor wins against paper but loses to rock
