Kerala has 14 wildlife sanctuaries across the state. Sanctuaries include Parambikkulam, Chulannur, Karimpuzha, and other locations. Each sanctuary has its own dedicated wildlife sanctuary. Sanctuaries are managed by the KSREC and approved by the CEC

Medium-sized pine reaching 20-35 meters in height. Leaves are 10-16 cm long, dark green to yellow-green. Bark is thin red-orange, maturing to grey-brown to orange. Male cones are squat, 15-20 mm long. Female cones are short, 5-10 cm long, maturing to red-orange
Mediterranean pine reaching 15-25 meters height with orange-red bark. Native to Mediterranean region, found from Morocco to Greece. Can grow up to 1,700 meters in southern Mediterranean. Widely planted for timber in Algeria and Morocco
Large deciduous tree reaching up to 50 meters in height. Smooth silvery-gray bark with large leaf area. Leaves 5-10 cm long with 6-7 veins. Leaves remain on tree until spring (marcescence)
