Kemeraltı is İzmir's lively market district extending from Agora to Konak Square. Originally called Street of the Mevlevis, filled in 17th century. Hisar Mosque built in 1592, oldest Ottoman landmark in İzmir. Market formed between 1650-1670 with filling of inner bay. Yellow Kışla built in 1829, later demolished in 1955
