Word offers two methods for adding shapes: Insert Shapes and freeform tools. Insert Shape feature provides pre-defined shapes like squares and circles. Freeform tools allow creating custom shapes with straight and curved segments. Connector tools enable joining points to create new shapes
Open Word and go to Design tab. Click Page Color button on right side of toolbar. Select White option from drop-down menu
Navigation Pane works best with headings-structured documents. Enable Navigation Pane through View tab. Drag headings in descending order to move sections. Highest-level heading moves entire sections
Most formatting tools are found in the Ribbon menu at the top of the document. Documents can be single-spaced (1.0) or double-spaced (2.0). Text alignment can be adjusted to left, right, or center. Headers and footers can be added to every page
Standard Roman numerals use letters I, V, X, L, C, D, and M. Numbers up to 3,999 can be typed directly on any keyboard. Numbers over 3,999 require an overline (vinculum)
Margins are empty space between page edge and document content. Preset margins include Normal, Narrow, Moderate, Wide, Mirrored, and Office 2003 Default. Custom margins can be created by entering values for Top, Left, Bottom, Right. Gutter margin adjustment needed for bound documents. Changes apply immediately after selection
