    BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation), Birleşik Krallık merkezli ve Britanya Kraliyeti himayesinde faaliyet gösteren uluslararası bir kamu yayın kuruluşudur. 1922'de özel şirket olarak kurulmuş, 1972'ye kadar radyo ve televizyon alanında tekel konumunda kalmıştır.12

    Merkezi Londra'da bulunur ve gelirini televizyon ile radyo lisans ücretlerinden sağlar. Reklamsız yayıncılık anlayışı ve kamu hizmeti odaklı yapısıyla tanınır.13

    Günümüzde çok sayıda dilde yayın yapar ve internet ile sosyal medya üzerinden küresel izleyiciye ulaşır. BBC Türkçe servisi de bu kapsamda faaliyet gösterir.23
