- Preparation
- Clear base coat protects nails from staining and extends manicure
- Base color should be white or lightest ombré color
- Trim nails and file edges, push back cuticles if desired
- Creating Ombre
- Paint two colors horizontally on damp sponge
- Stamp sponge onto nail until dark enough
- Roll sponge across nail to darken colors
- Repeat process for each nail
- Apply clear top coat after 10-15 minutes
- Additional Tips
- Use petroleum jelly or tape to protect skin
- Paint thumb nails last for clean-up
- Wet sponge before painting to prevent polish seepage
- Natural sponge preferred over synthetic foam
- Two thin top coats recommended for glitter ombre
