    VBScript, Microsoft tarafından geliştirilen ve Visual Basic dilinin web uygulamalarına yönelik basitleştirilmiş bir sürümü olan bir betik dilidir. HTML kodları arasında iç içe kullanılabilir ve sunucu tarafında çalışarak dinamik web sayfaları oluşturur.123

    ASP (Active Server Pages) teknolojisiyle birlikte kullanılır; bu teknoloji, sunucuda çalışan aktif sayfaları ifade eder. Özellikle Internet Explorer tarafından desteklenen VBScript, form işlemleri ve kullanıcı etkileşimi gibi senaryolarda tercih edilir.134
