    Ayna testi, bir canlının aynadaki yansımasını tanıyıp tanımadığını ve öz farkındalık geliştirip geliştirmediğini ölçmek için kullanılan psikolojik bir deneydir.12

    1970 yılında psikolog Gordon Gallup Jr. tarafından geliştirilen bu test, hayvanların ve insanların kendilerini tanıma yeteneğini değerlendirmek amacıyla uygulanır.23

    Testte, canlının vücuduna fark ettirmeden bir işaret konulur ve aynadaki görüntüsüne tepkisi gözlemlenir.1
