    Genel bilgiler

    Yusuf Sezgin 22 Nisan 1942 tarihinde İstanbul'da dünyaya gelmiştir. Aslen İstanbullu olan usta oyuncu Yusuf Sezgin, Boğa burcudur.

    Yusuf Sezgin İzmir Namık Kemal Lisesi son sınıfında okurken eğitimini yarım bırakmış ve sonra 1960 yılından itibaren 3 yıl mankenlik yapmıştır.

    1962 yılında «Kart Horoz» oyunu ile Bulvar Tiyatrosu'nda sahneye çıkan Yusuf Sezgin, 1963 yılında Haldun Dormen tiyatrosu usta isimlerle çeşitli tiyatro oyunlarında birlikte çalışmıştır.

    Aynı sene Vakko'nun ilk erkek mankeni olarak podyumda görev alan Yusuf Sezgin, 1963 yılında SES mecmuasının düzenlediği «Kapak Yıldızı» adlı artist yarışmasında finalist seçilerek, rol aldığı «Kavgasız Yaşayalım» filmiyle sinemaya başlamış, 1964 yılında ilk başrolünü oynadığı «Hz. Yusuf» filmi ile sinemada starlaşmış ve Türk sinemasında başrol olarak 300'e yakın filmde rol almıştır.

    Yusuf Sezgin aynı zamanda 2000 yılından itibaren SODER yönetim kurulu başkanlığı görevini yapmaktadır.
