    William Dear, Amerikalı bir sinema yönetmeni, yapımcı ve senaristtir.

    1950 yılında doğan Dear, sinema kariyerine 1970'lerin başında başlamıştır. Özellikle 1980'ler ve 1990'larda dikkat çeken projelere imza atmıştır.

    Kendi tarzı ve hikaye anlatımıyla tanınan Dear, hem komedi hem de dram türlerinde eserler vermiştir.

    William Dear'in en bilinen filmlerinden biri «Harry and the Hendersons» 1987 adlı yapımdır.
