    Genel bilgiler

    Afgan film yönetmeni ve Afgan Film Örgütü'nün ilk kadın başkanı Sahraa Karimi 21 Mayıs 1983 tarihinde dünyaya geldi.

    Afganistan'da sinema ve film yapımında doktora sahibi ilk ve tek kadındır. Bratislava'daki Sahne Sanatları Akademisi'nde geçirdiği süre boyunca yaptığı bir belgesel olan Light Breeze, En İyi Kısa Kurmaca Film dalında Sun in a Net Awards (Slovakya'daki en yüksek film ödülleri) kazandı.

    Afganistan'a döndüğünde, bağımsız Afgan film yapımcılarını tanıtmak için Kapila Multimedya Evi'nin açılmasına yardım etti.

    Slovakya'daki Akademi ödülleri ve Slovakya'daki Akademi ödülleri de dahil olmak üzere büyük film festivallerinde yaklaşık 20 ödül kazandı.
