    Saadet İshaki Çağatay

    Saadet Çağatay (28 Temmuz 1907 — 24 Haziran 1989) — yazar, dilci. Kazan’da doğdu. Kazanlı meşhur yazar ve siyasetçi Mehmet Ayaz İshakî İdilli’nin kızıdır.

    Berlin Üniversitesi Felsefe Fakültesinde Türkoloji okudu. Doktorasını da Türk dili sahasında burada verdi. Beş yıl süreyle Millî Yol dergisinin yayınını yürüttü. 1939’da Türkiye’ye geldi. A.Ü. Dil ve Tarih-Coğrafya Fakültesine asistan olarak girdi. 1943’te doçent, 1953’te profesör oldu.

    Çalışmalarının ağırlığı Türk lehçeleri üzerinedir.
