    Patrick McGrath 1950 yılında Londra'da doğdu.

    Çalışma tarzı eleştirmenler tarafından «Gotik kurmaca» olarak tanımlanan yazarın Kan ve Su ve Diğer Öyküler adında bir kısa öyküler koleksiyonu, Martha Peake (İtalyan Premio Flaiano Ödülü), Port Mungo, Sığınak, Travma ve David Cronenberg tarafından beyazperdeye de aktarılan Örümcek adlı romanları vardır.

    McGrath’ın birinci şahıs ağzından aktarılan yapıtları, ruh hastalıkları, bastırılmış eşcinsellik, ihanet gibi konuları işler.
