    Muhammed Seyyid Tantavi

    Muhammed Seyyid Tantavi (28 Ekim 1928 — 10 Mart 2010), Tantavi olarak da anılan, Mısır'da etkili bir İslam alimiydi.

    1986'dan 1996'ya kadar Mısır'ın büyük müftüsüydü. 1996'da cumhurbaşkanı Hüsnü Mübarek onu El-Ezher'in Büyük İmamı olarak atadı ve 2010'daki ölümüne kadar bu pozisyonunu korudu.

    Tantavi, yedi bin sayfalık bir Kur'an tefsirini (Al-tafser al-waset) tamamladı. Bu Tefsir'in tamamlanması on yıldan fazla sürdü.
