    Gertrude Pridgett doğumlu Ma Rainey (26 Nisan 1886 - 22 Aralık 1939), müzik kaydeden ilk blues şarkıcılarından biriydi.

    "Mavilerin Annesi" lakaplı, aralarında «Prove it on Me Blues», «See See Rider Blues» ve «Don't Fish in My Sea» hitleri de dahil olmak üzere 100'den fazla single kaydetti.
