    Johann Gottfried Galle (9 Haziran 1812 — 10 Temmuz 1910), Almanya'nın Radis kentinde Berlin Gözlemevi'nde çalışan bir Alman astronomdu.

    23 Eylül 1846'da öğrencisi Heinrich Louis d'Arrest'in yardımıyla Neptün gezegenini gören ve neye baktığını bilen ilk kişi oldu. Urbain Le Verrier Neptün'ün varlığını ve konumunu tahmin etmiş ve koordinatları Galle'ye göndererek doğrulamasını istemişti.

    Neptün'ün keşfi yaygın olarak gök mekaniğinin dramatik bir doğrulaması olarak kabul edilir ve 19. yüzyıl biliminin en dikkat çekici anlarından biridir.
