    Jean-Louis Petit (13 Mart 1674 — 20 Nisan 1750) bir Fransız cerrah ve vidalı turnikenin mucididir.

    İlk kez anatomiye ilgi duymuş Petit, 1700 yılında Paris'te cerrahi branşında yüksek lisans diploması aldı. Fransız Kraliyet Bilimler Akademisi'ne 1715 yılında üye olan Petit, 1731 yılında kurulmuş Kraliyet Cerrahi Akademisi'nin yöneticiliğine kral tarafından atanmıştır.

    Kanama, lakrimal fistül ve frenum operasyonları, kemik hastalıkları konusundaki çalışmaları ve özellikle de 12 yıldır çalıştığı cerrahi operasyonlar konusundaki genel incelemeleri nedeniyle tanınmıştır.
