    Jean Buridan (Latince: Joannes Buridanus) (1300 - 1358) Fransız rahip, filozoftur.

    Geliştirmiş olduğu impetus kavramı modern süredurum kavramına doğru giden yolda ilk adımı teşkil eder. Kopernik devriminin temellerini atmıştır.

    Buridan'ın eşeği olarak bilinen düşünce deneyiyle hatırlanmaktadır. Ancak bu düşünce deneyine onun günümüze kadar gelen eserlerinde rastlanmamaktadır.
