    Guan Hu, Çin film endüstrisine olağanüstü katkılarda bulunmasıyla tanınan çok saygın bir Çinli film yapımcısıdır.

    1 Mart 1968'de Çin'in Gansu Eyaleti, Wuwei Şehri'nde doğan Guan Hu'nun hikaye anlatma ve sinemaya olan tutkusu erken yaşta ortaya çıkmıştır. Prestijli Beijing Film Akademisi'nde yönetmenlik eğitimi almış ve yeteneklerini keskinleştirmiş ve anlatı hikayeciliği konusunda özgün bir perspektif geliştirmiştir.

    Guan Hu'nun yönetmenlik kariyeri, 2002 yılında çektiği ilk filmi «The Missing Gun» (Kayıp Silah) ile ortaya çıktı. Film, eleştirmenlerden büyük beğeni toplayarak Guan Hu'ya Çin film endüstrisinde geniş çapta tanınma getirdi.

    Guan Hu'nun kendine özgü anlatım tarzı genellikle kimlik, ahlak ve insanlık durumu gibi temalara eğilir. Yetenekli ve vizyoner bir film yapımcısı olarak, tarihî olaylara, sosyal konulara ve insan ilişkilerinin karmaşıklığına ışık tutmak için hikaye anlatma yeteneğini kullanır.
