    Gilles Carle, Kanada sinema endüstrisine önemli bir etki yapan ünlü bir Kanadalı film yapımcısıydı.

    31 Temmuz 1928'de Maniwaki, Quebec'de doğan Carle, benzersiz sanatsal vizyonunu şekillendiren mütevazı bir ortamda büyüdü. Kariyerine 1950'lerin sonlarında başlayarak, film ve televizyonda yönetmen, senarist ve yapımcı olarak kendine isim yapmayı başardı.

    Carle'ın filmleri genellikle kişisel deneyimlerini, toplumsal endişelerini ve Quebec'in kültürel kimliğini yansıtır. Komedi, drama ve belgesel gibi çeşitli türleri keşfetti ve bu sayede Kanada toplumunun farklı yönlerine derinlemesine girebildi.
