    Gabriele Falloppio

    Genel bilgiler

    İtalyan anatomist Gabriele Fallopio (1523-1563), ölümünden sonra yayımlanan De Morbo Gallico dergisinde prezervatifin ilk tanımını yaptı.

    Cinsel yolla bulaşan hastalıkların yayılmasını engellemek için Fallopio, tuz solusyonuna batırıldığında koruyucu bir katman oluşturan bir kumaş kılıf geliştirdi. Kadınların prezervatife olan ilgisini arttırmak amacıyla bu kılıf, pembe renkli kumaşlarla penis çevresine bağlanıyordu.

    Falloppio, geliştirdiği prezervatifi kullanan 1.100 erkekten hiç birinin frengi hastalığına yakalanmadığını iddia etti.
