    Bill Brandt

    Genel bilgiler

    Bill Brandt (Almanya-İngiltere, 1904-1983) 20. yüzyılın en büyük belgesel ve sanatsal fotoğrafçılarından biri olarak kabul edilir.

    Yaşamının çeşitli dönemlerinde manzara, portre, 2. Dünya Savaşı, surrealizm, deneysel, nü ve şiirsel fotoğraflarıyla da fotoğrafa yeni açılımlar getirmiş olmakla birlikte, onun asıl silinmez bir izi Londra’nın Doğu Yakası’ndaki işçilerin çalışma ve yaşam alanlarında, 1930’ların buhran döneminde çektiği fotoğraflardır.

    Foto-muhabirliği, sinema ve heykelle de ilgilenmiş olması, toplumsal gerçekçi sınıf bakışına farklı bir tarihsel-sınıfsal derinlik kazandırır.
