    Rotary International, dünya çapında iş ve meslek sahiplerini bir araya getiren kar amacı gütmeyen bir hizmet kuruluşudur. Temel amacı, barış, iyi niyet ve anlayışı teşvik ederek toplumlara hizmet sunmaktır.12

    Dört ana hizmet alanı bulunur: kulüp hizmetleri, meslek gelişimi, toplum projeleri ve uluslararası iş birlikleri. Üyelik, iş veya meslek alanında liderlik ve dürüstlük gibi kriterlere dayanır.35

    1905'te ABD'de kurulan organizasyon, 150'den fazla ülkede faaliyet gösterir. Türkiye'de de 1955'ten beri aktif olarak hizmet vermektedir.24
