    Genel bilgiler

    Hayvanlara Etik Muamele İçin Mücadele Edenler (PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) bir hayvan hakları organizasyonudur.

    Norfolk, Virginia kökenli ve yaklaşık 6,5 milyon üye ve destekçisi olan organizasyon dünyanın en büyük hayvan hakları grubudur. Grubun uluslararası başkanı Ingrid Newkirk'tür.

    Organizasyon temelde dört konuya odaklanır: fabrika çiftçiliği, kürk çiftçiliği, hayvan testleri ve hayvanların eğlence amaçlı kullanılması.

    PETA, türcülüğe ve hayvanların yiyecek, giyecek, eğlence veya araştırma gibi herhangi bir şekilde istismar edilmesine karşı çıkan bir hayvan hakları örgütüdür.
