    MPLA (Angola'nın Bağımsızlığı İçin Halk Hareketi), 1975'ten beri Angola'yı yöneten ve bağımsızlık mücadelesinde önemli rol oynayan siyasi partidir.14

    Sosyal demokrat ve komünist eğilimli bir ideolojiye sahiptir; 2022 seçimlerinde oyların çoğunluğunu alarak cumhurbaşkanını belirlemiştir.23

    UNITA ile uzun süren iç savaşın ardından çok partili sisteme geçilmiş, ancak iktidar partisi konumunu korumuştur.15
