    İslamabad, Pakistan'ın başkenti ve ülkenin siyasi, ticari ve kültürel merkezidir. 1960'lı yıllarda Karaçi'nin yerine planlı bir şehir olarak kurulmuştur.124

    Şehir, ılıman iklimi ve gelişmiş altyapısıyla Pakistan'ın en önemli metropollerindendir. Nüfusu son yıllarda hızla artmıştır.145
