    Genel bilgiler

    Takiyüddin Rasathanesi, 16. yüzyıl Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nda astronomi ve bilimsel keşiflerin zirveye ulaşmasını sağlayan önemli bir bilimsel yapıdır.

    1577 yılında İstanbul'da, ünlü astronom Takiyüddin İbn-i Maruf tarafından kurulan rasathane, dönemin en gelişmiş astronomik gözlemlerine ev sahipliği yapmıştır.

    Takiyüddin, bu rasathanede kullandığı teleskoplarla yıldızların hareketlerini ve gökyüzündeki astronomik olayları daha doğru bir şekilde gözlemleyerek, dönemin astronomi anlayışına önemli katkılar sağlamıştır.

    Rasathane, Osmanlı'da astronominin gelişimine büyük ivme kazandırmış ve bilimsel bilgilere dayalı yeni bir bakış açısının önünü açmıştır.
