    First Sudanese Civil War

    Genel bilgiler

    İlk Sudan İç Savaşı, 1955 ve 1972 yılları arasında Sudan’ın Kuzey ve Güney bölgeleri arasında on iki yıllık bir çatışmaydı.

    Savaş, Sudan’ın büyük Britanya’dan bağımsız ilan edilmesinden bir yıl önce başladı. Savaştaki ana savaşçılar Sudan merkezi Hükümeti ve Güney Sudan Kurtuluş hareketi (SSLM) idi.

    Büyük Britanya, Mısır ve Sovyetler Birliği merkezi hükümeti desteklerken, SSLM Etiyopya, Uganda ve İsrail tarafından desteklendi.

    On iki yıllık çatışma sırasında yaklaşık 500.000 kişi öldü.
