    Genel bilgiler

    FIM-92 Stinger, alçak irtifadaki düşman uçak ve helikopterlerine karşı kullanılan, bir kişi tarafından taşınabilen, omuzdan ateşlenen, hedeften yayılan kızılötesi ve morötesi ışınlarla yönelen, pasif güdümlü ateşle-unut tipi hava savunma füze sistemidir.

    Tek personel tarafından MANPADS (Omuzdan atılarak) kullanılması, yüksek isabet ve tahrip özelliği gibi sebeplerle kara birliklerinin hava savunmasında önemli bir yere sahiptir. Kaideye monte batarya sistemleri oluşturulabilir. Ayrıca helikopter ve her çeşit kara aracına monte edilebilir.

    Şu an itibarıyla ABD dışında 29 ülkenin hizmetindedir.
