Downloading files
Use download manager to view and manage downloaded files.
Download a file
- Follow the link to download the file.
- In the window that opens, confirm your action.
View the download progress in the Android notification bar. To open the bar, slide down the upper edge of the smartphone screen. When the files are downloaded, a message appears in the notification bar.
Stop, resume, and cancel a download
- Open the Android notification bar (slide down the upper edge of the smartphone screen).
- In the line with the downloaded file, tap .
- Tap Stop, Resume, or Cancel.
Open the downloaded file

- Open the Android notification bar (slide down the upper edge of the smartphone screen).
- Tap the file name.
- In the pop-up window, select the app to open the file (the window appears if there are no default apps for this file type).
After you open the file, the notification disappears from the bar.
In downloads

You can view downloads only in an open tab.
- Open any tab.
- To the right of the SmartBox or inside it, tap .
- Tap Downloads. A list of downloaded files opens in the device's download manager.
- Tap the file name.
- In the pop-up window, select the app to open the file (the window appears if there are no default apps for this file type).
In Settings
- Go to (profile picture) → App settings.
- Go to Downloads → Open Downloads. A list of downloaded files opens in the device's download manager.
- Next to the file, tap → Open with... and select the app to open the file.

- Go to Downloads → Open Downloads.
A list of downloaded files opens in the device's download manager.
Delete downloaded files

- To the right of the SmartBox or inside it, tap .
- Tap Downloads. A list of downloaded files opens in the device's download manager.
- Select the file and delete it using the download manager.
In Settings
- Go to (profile picture) → App settings.
- Go to Downloads → Open Downloads. A list of downloaded files opens in the device's download manager.
- Next to the file, tap → Delete.
Clear all downloads
To delete all downloaded files:
- Go to (profile picture) → App settings.
- Tap Clear data.
- Make sure that the Downloads option is enabled.
- Disable all other options (if you want to clear only downloads).
- Tap Clear data.
- Confirm the action.

Note
The Translate tool is only available on Android devices.
View the path to downloaded files
By default, Yandex Start downloads files to the Downloads system folder. To view the default download path:
- Go to (profile picture) → App settings.
- Under Downloads, tap File storage directory.
Move the downloads folder to the SD card
If you have an SD card, you can store downloaded files there to save device memory. To do this:
- Go to (profile picture) → App settings.
- Under Downloads, tap File storage directory and select the SD card.
The storage folder will change, but the files that you already downloaded will remain in the old location.
Move the downloads folder back to the phone's internal memory
If you've moved your downloads to your SD card, you can download files to your device memory again:
- Go to (profile picture) → App settings.
- Under Downloads, tap File storage directory and select Phone.
The storage folder will change, but the files that you already downloaded will remain in the old location.
Save the page as a PDF file
- Open the page you want to save.
- To the right of the SmartBox, tap .
- Tap Save as PDF.
This opens a standard app for printing or saving the file as a PDF.
To open the saved PDF file, tap → Downloads in an active tab.
