# Request access to a private page

If an author restricts viewing of a page, you can request access.

1. Go to the private page using the link.

1. Specify why you need access to the page and click **Request access**.

The page author and co-authors will receive a notification of your request. When one of them confirms the request, you will receive an email.

## How to approve or decline a request {#confirm}

If you are the author or a co-author of the page, you will receive an email about your colleague's request. Follow the link and select your response: grant access to a single employee only, to the whole group, or decline the request.

If the page author no longer works at the organization, the administrator will receive the request.
