# Offline mode

The Yandex Translate app can translate [texts](https://yandex.com.tr/support/translate-app-android/en/translate-history-text.md) offline.

Only the text you type can be translated offline. [Voice input](https://yandex.com.tr/support/translate-app-android/en/translate-history-text.md#voice-input) and [dialog mode](https://yandex.com.tr/support/translate-app-android/en/dialogue-mode.md) require an internet connection.

English and Russian offline dictionaries are available by default. To translate into other languages offline, you need to download their respective dictionaries.

For example, to translate from English to Turkish offline, you need to download the Turkish dictionary.

#### To download offline translations, do the following: {#install-offline}

1. Go to [Settings](https://yandex.com.tr/support/translate-app-android/en/faq-translate-mobile.md#settings).

2. In the **Download offline translation** menu, select a package and tap ![](_image/download-offline-button.png). Wait for the files to download.

3. [Enable](https://yandex.com.tr/support/translate-app-android/en/faq-translate-mobile.md#settings) offline mode.

## Troubleshooting {#troubleshooting}

If you download dictionaries in the app, offline translation will work automatically without internet connection. 

If there is a signal, but it's very unstable, turn on offline mode manually.

Make sure you have both offline dictionaries installed. For example, if you want to translate from Russian to French, download both Russian and French dictionaries.
