# How to update a portfolio status
We recommend keeping the portfolio status up to date and periodically adding comments about the work progress.
### Changing the status {#status}
To update the status, change the value of the **Status** field in the right panel.

- **New** — the portfolio has been created, but work hasn't started yet.
- **In progress** — work on the portfolio's projects is underway.
- **Complete** — work on the portfolio's projects has been completed successfully.
- **Postponed** — the portfolio's projects are currently not relevant, and work has stopped.
- **At risk** — the projects may exceed their deadlines, or the results may differ from what's expected.
- **Blocked** — work on the projects is on hold, and achieving the result depends on external circumstances.
- **Planned** — the projects' progress is in line with the planned schedule.
- **Draft** — a preliminary version of the portfolio.
- **Canceled** — work on the portfolio's projects has stopped.

### Adding a comment {#comment}
1. On the portfolio page, open the **Updates** tab.

Write your comment in the editing area. {#add}
In the comments section, you can use [text markup](https://yandex.com.tr/support/tracker/en/user/markup.md) and attach images and files. {#markup}
1. To change the goal status when sending a comment, select a new status above the editing area.
1. To invite other users to discuss the portfolio:

In the bottom part of the comment entry field, click **Invite**. {#summon-button}

Enter the login or name of the user you want to invite to the comments. To add another user, click **Invite** again. {#summon-login}

Click **Submit**. {#submit}
To change the order of comments, click **New comments first** or **Old comments first** at the top right of the editing area. {#sort}
### Replying to a comment {#reply}
1. Hover over the comment and click **Reply**. The comment you are replying to will be quoted in the response.
To quote just a part of a comment in your reply, select the text and click **Reply**. Only the text you've selected will be quoted.
1. Enter your response in the comment box.
1. Click **Send**.
If a comment includes a quote, you can jump to the original comment by clicking **Reply**. To do this, click the quoted text.

### Adding a summary comment for projects {#total}
In a portfolio, you can generate an automatic comment that gathers updates from all nested portfolios and projects:
1. On the **Updates** tab, click **Portfolio summary** above the editing area.
A new comment appears in the editing area, containing a list of nested projects and portfolios. For each project and portfolio, its status, date, and the text of the latest comment are shown.

The portfolio summary comment won't include:
* comments added more than a month ago;
* replies to previous comments in nested projects and portfolios.

1. If necessary, edit the text of the summary comment.
