# Setting up access to a board
By default, all employees of your organization can view, edit, and set up a board. Access can be restricted for specific employees, but the organization administrator always has full access to the board.
## Configuring board access permissions {#access}
Only the board owner or a user with the **Full access** permission can set up access to a board.
1. Open the board page.
1. At the top, click **All employees**.
1. Add users or groups to grant them access to the board.
1. Select the actions that you want to allow the user or group:
- **Use**: Permission to view and manage issues on the board, with options to add, group, and sort them.
- **Edit**: Permission to manage issues as well as create and edit sprints and columns on the board.
- **Full access**: Permission to manage columns and sprints, set up planning poker and the board's auto actions, and manage access.
- **Revoke access**: Click this to remove a user or group from the list.
1. Click **Save**.

If the board was created along with a project, its access settings will always match those of the project.

## Changing the board owner {#change-owner}
Only the current owner or a user with **Full access** permission can change the board owner.
1. Open the board page.
1. Click at the top.
1. In the settings window to the right of the current owner's name, click and specify the new owner.
1. Click **Save**.
After the changes are saved, the previous owner retains full access to the board.
