# How to link a goal to another object

You can link a goal to Tracker entities: an issue, project, portfolio, or another goal. They appear on the **Links** tab. You can also attach Tracker widgets to a goal; they appear on the **Goals and progress** tab, under ![](../_assets/svg/add-metric.svg)</svg> **Metrics**.

## Adding a link to a project or portfolio {#connection-with-project}

Link projects and portfolios whose work is aimed at achieving the goal.

1. On the goal page, go to the **Links** tab.

1. Click ![](../_assets/svg/add-icon.svg)</svg> **Link** → **With project or portfolio**.

   Select a project or portfolio to link:

    * **New**: Enter a name, set a deadline, and click **Create**.
    * **Existing**: Paste a link to the project or select the option you need from the list.

## Adding a link to another goal {#connection-with-goal}

You can use links to build a goal hierarchy. For example, you can break the company's key goals down into subgoals for departments and teams.

1. On the goal page, go to the **Links** tab.

1. Click ![](../_assets/svg/add-icon.svg)</svg> **Link** → **With goal**.

1. Select the link type:

    - **Depends on** — the goal that the current goal is linked to.
    - **Blocks** — the goal whose completion is blocked by the current one.
    - **Parent goal** — a high-level goal for which the current goal becomes a subgoal. There can be only one parent goal.
    - **Subgoal** — a child goal of the current one.

    Choose a goal that you want to link to the project:

     * To create a new goal, select **New**. Enter the goal name, set the deadline, and click **Create**.

       To open the full goal creation page with all the available parameters, click the ![](../_assets/svg/expand-comment-mobile.svg)</svg> icon.

     * To add an existing goal, select **Existing**. Paste a link to the goal or select the option you need from the list.

## Adding a link to an issue {#connection-with-issue}

1. On the goal page, go to the **Links** tab.

1. Click ![](../_assets/svg/add-icon.svg)</svg> **Link** → **With issue**.

1. Select which issue to link:

 * **New**: enter a name, select a queue, and click **Create**.

    If you can create an issue in the queue [only using a form](https://yandex.com.tr/support/tracker/en/user/forms-template.md#new-task-page), you'll see the **Select form** button on the screen.

 * **Existing**: start typing the issue name or key and select the matching option from the list.

## Changing the link type {#change-link-type}

To the right of the linked object, click ![ellipsis](../_assets/svg/actions.svg)</svg> → **Change link type** and select a new type.

## Deleting a link {#delete-link}

To the right of the linked object, click ![ellipsis](../_assets/svg/actions.svg)</svg> → **Delete link**.

## Adding metrics {#metrics}

You can embed metrics on the goal page: [Tracker widgets](https://yandex.com.tr/support/tracker/en/user/widgets.md). They are displayed in a separate ![](../_assets/svg/add-metric.svg)</svg> **Metrics** block.

To add a metric:


1. Select a widget on the dashboard and click ![](../_assets/svg/actions.svg)</svg> → ![](../_assets/svg/iframe.svg)</svg> **Copy link for iframe** in the top right corner.


1. Open the entity page and click ![](../_assets/console-icons/chart-line.svg) **Metric**.

1. Enter the metric name. This name will appear in the widget header.

1. Below, paste the link to the widget.

1. Click **Add**.

You can edit or delete added metrics. To do this, click ![](../_assets/svg/vertical-ellipsis.svg) in the top right corner of the metric and select an action from the menu.
