# Gantt chart for project portfolios
Gantt charts for Tracker project portfolios show nested [portfolios](https://yandex.com.tr/support/tracker/en/manager/portfolio.md) and [projects](https://yandex.com.tr/support/tracker/en/manager/project-new.md) and their [issues](https://yandex.com.tr/support/tracker/en/manager/project-list.md#issue-actions).
## Creating a chart {#sec-portfolio}
To go to the Gantt chart:
1. In the [left-hand panel](https://tracker.yandex.com), select **Projects** or follow the [direct link](https://tracker.yandex.com/pages/projects) and open the portfolio page.
1. Select the **Gantt chart** tab.
* The portfolio and project list is displayed to the left of the chart. To open the list of nested items, click next to its name. The issues are displayed as a hierarchical list.
* The portfolio, project, and issue timeframes are shown on the chart as bars plotted along the time axis. The left edge of each bar indicates the start date of a portfolio, project, or issue, while the right edge marks its deadline.

To change the time scale, select **Week**, **Month**, or **Quarter** in the bottom right corner of the chart. The scale settings persist after refreshing the page or opening the chart again.
## Moving a portfolio or project {#move}
You can move portfolios and projects, nest them in other portfolios and projects, and move them to higher levels.
To move some portfolios and projects relative to others, click to the left of the portfolio or project, and drag them to a new position.
## Changing timeframes {#timing}
* If the portfolio or project timeframes are not shown on the chart (its start and end dates are not set), hover over the chart next to the portfolio or project name, position the bar along the time axis, and click the left mouse button.
* To shift the portfolio or project start and end dates by the same value, drag the bar along the time axis.
* To change the portfolio or project duration, drag the left edge of the bar (the start date) or the right edge of the bar (the end date).
## Assigning an employee in charge {#assign-responsible}
On a Gantt chart for portfolios, you can assign or change an employee in charge of a portfolio or project:
1. Click on the portfolio or project bar.
1. Enter the name of the employee in charge of a portfolio or project.

If you don't see the button on the portfolio or project bar, go to **Chart settings** and select **assignee** in the **Issue bar** section.

In a similar way, you can also use the chart to appoint and change assignees for each project's tasks.
## Updating links between issues {#links}
The Gantt chart shows **Depends on – Blocks** issue links, provided that the **Start date** and **Deadline** fields are filled in for both issues and the **Show blocking links** option is enabled for the chart. Links appear as an arrow pointing from the dependent issue to the blocking issue.
You can edit issue links on the Gantt chart.
* To add a **Depends on – Blocks** [link](https://yandex.com.tr/support/tracker/en/user/ticket-links.md), hover over the issue bar until dots appear to the right and left of the bar.
* To make the selected issue dependent, click the dot on the left and drag it to the blocking issue.
* To make the selected issue blocking, click the dot on the right and drag it to the dependent issue.

If the dependent issue deadline is earlier than that of the blocking issue, the arrow is red. You can enable [automatic update of start dates and deadlines](#timing) for dependent issues.

* To delete a link between issues, click the link arrow and then click **Delete link**.
## Changing issue deadlines {#timing}
* To set an issue's start date and deadline:
* Fill in the **Start date** and **Deadline** fields in the issue card.
* Drag the issue bar on the chart to fill in the **Start date** and **Deadline** fields automatically.
* To shift the start date and deadline by the same value, drag the bar along the time access.
* To change the issue duration, drag the left edge of the bar (the start date) or the right edge of the bar (deadline).
* If no deadline is set for the parent issue, a hint (blue bar) is displayed next to it on the chart depending on the deadlines of all sub-issues. The start of the bar corresponds to the earliest start date of work on the sub-issues, and the end of the bar represents the latest deadline.
## Assigning an issue {#assigned}
On the Gantt chart, you can appoint or change the issue's assignee:
1. Click on the issue bar.
1. Enter the name of the employee to assign the issue to.

If you do not see the button on the issue bar, go to **Chart settings** and select the **assignee** item in the **Issue bar** section.

## Chart settings {#settings}
Above the timeline on the right, click **Chart settings** and select a setting under **Issue bar**:
* To show the issue name on the issue bar, select the **name** item.
* To show the assignee icon on the issue bar, select the **assignee** item.
* To have the missed deadline property (the difference between the deadline and the current date) highlighted in red on the chart, select **missed deadline**.
## Displaying the project and portfolio list section {#tasks-view}
* To filter the project and portfolio list, use the filter builder. On the **Filters** panel, define the selection parameters and their values. The panel allows you to use filtering on portfolios or projects only.

If a nested portfolio is hidden from the list after filtering, all the portfolios and projects nested in it will not be displayed either.

* To resize a column in a section, click and hold its edge and then change the width.
