# Lists and guides
_Lists and guides_ are a special [Yandex Maps](https://yandex.com.tr/harita?lang=en) section where you can save and collect interesting places and organizations.
For example:
- _Best cafes with outdoor terraces_
- _Cozy bookstores_
- _Dog-friendly parks_
- _Unusual city museums_
Comment on places, add an icon and a description, and share your lists with other users.
## List types {#types}
You'll see all your lists in the Yandex Maps **[Bookmarks and transport](*collections)** section.
List types and who can see them:

|| Available via link | Users who follow the link can see the list. | Such lists are marked as **Available via link** in the interface. ||
|| Public | All Yandex Maps users can see the list. |

A public list is called a guide.

Guides are marked as **Available to everyone** in the interface.
They may appear in place cards and organization cards under **In guides** or **Similar places**.
Whether users will see your guide depends on the algorithms — they considers various factors, such as views, clicks, and how many times the guide was added to favorites.
Additionally, the algorithms assess relevance by checking if the title matches the content, whether the locations include descriptions, and if there are any comments on places. For more tips on how to improve your guide, see [Recommendations](#recommendations).
All guides are subject to moderation. If your guide doesn't pass it, it will be marked as **Didn't pass moderation** in the interface.

After creating a list, you can [change its type](#edit-data).
## Publication rules {#rules}
We can publish lists that don't violate the service rules and applicable legislation.
To get your list approved:
- Make sure it doesn't contain:
- Any insults, obscene language, or threats.
- Promotion of prohibited substances or extremist ideas.
- Discrimination based on any characteristic.
- Adult content or scenes of violence.
- Don't use links.
The list description and comments on places must not contain links to third-party resources.
- Don't enter personal data.
Avoid entering any personal information about yourself or others in your lists, such as phone numbers, email addresses, or links to socials.
- Respect copyright.
Use only those photos and descriptions that you have the rights to. Don't copy other users’ content without their consent.
## Recommendations {#recommendations}
If you want your list to stand out and get noticed by other users, follow our recommendations:
Create personalized lists
: A list reflects your unique view of the city. Choose places you really like. Share your impressions even if the topic seems unusual. Sincerity is what really matters.
Add a list description and comments on places
: Explain why you included each place in the list. Describe what your list is about and who might find it useful. Even a brief description will help other users understand your idea.
Keep your lists fresh
: Cities are constantly changing: old places close, new places open. Revisit your lists from time to time and keep them up to date.
Experiment with formats
: Lists can be different: classic lists, walking routes, or themed guides. Try different approaches and find the format that suits you best.
## Create a list {#create-folder}
To create a list:
1. Open [Yandex Maps](https://yandex.com.tr/harita?lang=en).
1. Go to the section:
- On the website:  →  **Bookmarks and transport**.
- In the app:  **Saved places and transport**.
1. In the **Places** tab, click **Create folder** next to **Folders**.
1. Enter a name for the list.
1. (Optional). To change the placemark display on the map:
1. Click **[Select icon](*choose-icon)**.
1. Select the color and icon you want.
1. Click **Done**.
1. (Optional). Click **Add description** and enter additional information about the list.
1. Click **Save**.
## Add an organization to the list {#add-org}

You can add the same organization to multiple lists with different comments.

To add an organization to the list:
1. Open [Yandex Maps](https://yandex.com.tr/harita?lang=en).
1. Go to the place or organization card.
1. To add an organization to bookmarks, click .
1. Click  again and select the list you want to add the organization to.
1. Click **Save**.
## Edit contents {#edit-data}
To edit list contents:

1. Open [Yandex Maps](https://yandex.com.tr/harita?lang=en).
1. Go to the section:
- On the website:  →  **Bookmarks and transport**.
- In the app:  **Saved places and transport**.
1. In the **Places** tab, select the desired list under **Folders**.
1. Hover over .
1. Click **Edit**.
1. Enter a new list name.
1. Click **Save**.

1. Go to the section:
- On the website:  →  **Bookmarks and transport**.
- In the app:  **Saved places and transport**.
1. In the **Places** tab, select the desired list under **Folders**.
1. Hover over .
1. Click **Edit**.
1. Click **[Select icon](*choose-icon)**.
1. Select the color and icon you want.
1. Click **Done**.
1. Click **Save**.

1. Open [Yandex Maps](https://yandex.com.tr/harita?lang=en).
1. Go to the section:
- On the website:  →  **Bookmarks and transport**.
- In the app:  **Saved places and transport**.
1. In the **Places** tab, select the desired list under **Folders**.
1. Hover over .
1. Click **Access settings**.
1. Select a list type:
- **Visible to you only**
- **Visible to everyone**
- **Visible via link only**
- Comment on the place
1. Open [Yandex Maps](https://yandex.com.tr/harita?lang=en).
1. Go to the section:
- On the website:  →  **Bookmarks and transport**.
- In the app:  **Saved places and transport**.
1. In the **Places** tab, click the desired list under **Folders**.
1. Enter your comment in the **Add a comment about this place** field in the place card.
1. Click **Save**.

## Share a list {#share-folder}
Before sharing a list, check its type — it must be available via link or to all users.
If you copy a link to a private list, it will automatically become available via that link.
To share a list:
1. Open [Yandex Maps](https://yandex.com.tr/harita?lang=en).
1. Go to the section:
- On the website:  →  **Bookmarks and transport**.
- In the app:  **Saved places and transport**.
1. In the **Places** tab, select the desired list under **Folders**.
1. Hover over .
1. Click **Share**.
1. To copy a link, click it.
## Delete a list {#delete-folder}
To delete a list:
1. Open [Yandex Maps](https://yandex.com.tr/harita?lang=en).
1. Go to the section:
- On the website:  →  **Bookmarks and transport**.
- In the app:  **Saved places and transport**.
1. In the **Places** tab, select the desired list under **Folders**.
1. Hover over .
1. Click **Remove**.
1. Click **Remove** again.
