Lists and guides

Lists and guides are a special Yandex Maps section where you can save and collect interesting places and organizations.

For example:

• Best cafes with outdoor terraces
• Cozy bookstores
• Dog-friendly parks
• Unusual city museums

Comment on places, add an icon and a description, and share your lists with other users.

List types

You'll see all your lists in the Yandex Maps Bookmarks and transport section.

List types and who can see them:

List type	Who can see	Notes
Private	Only you can see it.	Private lists don't have any special labels in the interface.
Available via link	Users who follow the link can see the list.	Such lists are marked as Available via link in the interface.
Public	All Yandex Maps users can see the list.	Note A public list is called a guide. Guides are marked as Available to everyone in the interface. They may appear in place cards and organization cards under In guides or Similar places. Whether users will see your guide depends on the algorithms — they considers various factors, such as views, clicks, and how many times the guide was added to favorites. Additionally, the algorithms assess relevance by checking if the title matches the content, whether the locations include descriptions, and if there are any comments on places. For more tips on how to improve your guide, see Recommendations. All guides are subject to moderation. If your guide doesn't pass it, it will be marked as Didn't pass moderation in the interface.

After creating a list, you can change its type.

Publication rules

We can publish lists that don't violate the service rules and applicable legislation.

To get your list approved:

• Make sure it doesn't contain:

  • Any insults, obscene language, or threats.
  • Promotion of prohibited substances or extremist ideas.
  • Discrimination based on any characteristic.
  • Adult content or scenes of violence.

• Don't use links.

  The list description and comments on places must not contain links to third-party resources.

• Don't enter personal data.

  Avoid entering any personal information about yourself or others in your lists, such as phone numbers, email addresses, or links to socials.

• Respect copyright.

  Use only those photos and descriptions that you have the rights to. Don't copy other users’ content without their consent.

If you want your list to stand out and get noticed by other users, follow our recommendations:

Create personalized lists

A list reflects your unique view of the city. Choose places you really like. Share your impressions even if the topic seems unusual. Sincerity is what really matters.

Add a list description and comments on places

Explain why you included each place in the list. Describe what your list is about and who might find it useful. Even a brief description will help other users understand your idea.

Keep your lists fresh

Cities are constantly changing: old places close, new places open. Revisit your lists from time to time and keep them up to date.

Experiment with formats

Lists can be different: classic lists, walking routes, or themed guides. Try different approaches and find the format that suits you best.

Create a list

To create a list:

1. Open Yandex Maps.

2. Go to the section:

   • On the website: → Bookmarks and transport.
   • In the app: Saved places and transport.

3. In the Places tab, click Create folder next to Folders.

4. Enter a name for the list.

5. (Optional). To change the placemark display on the map:

   1. Click Select icon.
   2. Select the color and icon you want.
   3. Click Done.

6. (Optional). Click Add description and enter additional information about the list.

7. Click Save.

Add an organization to the list

To add an organization to the list:

1. Open Yandex Maps.
2. Go to the place or organization card.
3. To add an organization to bookmarks, click .
4. Click again and select the list you want to add the organization to.
5. Click Save.

Share a list

Before sharing a list, check its type — it must be available via link or to all users.

If you copy a link to a private list, it will automatically become available via that link.

To share a list:

1. Open Yandex Maps.

2. Go to the section:

   • On the website: → Bookmarks and transport.
   • In the app: Saved places and transport.

3. In the Places tab, select the desired list under Folders.

4. Hover over .

5. Click Share.

6. To copy a link, click it.

Delete a list

To delete a list:

1. Open Yandex Maps.

2. Go to the section:

   • On the website: → Bookmarks and transport.
   • In the app: Saved places and transport.

3. In the Places tab, select the desired list under Folders.

4. Hover over .

5. Click Remove.

6. Click Remove again.
