“Geography” report

This report contains information about the geographical distribution of visitors to your site.

By default, the distribution of users is shown on a “Map” graph, which is also available in other reports. Regions with the highest site traffic are shown in green, and regions with the lowest traffic are shown in red. Hovering the cursor over a region displays a prompt with information about the metric that data in the table is sorted by.

To view the report: Reports → Standard reports → Audience → Geography.

What you can do with this report

Find the number of site users from different countries

The report will show the overall distribution of site users by region.

See the distribution of users on maps of Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus

To view the distribution of users within a particular country, use the switch under the map. Only the map legend changes, numeric data in the report does not.

Find the percentage distribution of users by region

To do this, select one of the chart types.

Check user engagement in different regions

All of this data can be derived from your website's bounce rate. The higher the bounce rate, the less the site is engaging users (bounces are users who leave within 15 seconds of looking at a single page).

Find out from which region users most often complete a goal

To get this data, first create a goal and use it in your report.

Report structure and settings

The report uses dimensions similar to the territorial division hierarchy:

  • Country.
  • Region (administrative unit). May be undefined.
  • City.

The report supports all settings available in Yandex.Metrica.
