# Configure voice notifications

You can set up voice notifications for car, bicycle, scooter, and walking routes.

## Setting up sounds and volume {#sound-volume}

   Tap **Settings** → **Sounds and alerts**.

1. Set the options you need. In the app, you can:
    
    - Set up voice navigation:

      ![](_assets/sound-important.svg) — Notifications about cameras and road events only.
      ![](_assets/sound-off.svg) — Turn off all sounds.
    
    - Adjust the volume of notifications, voice navigation, and other sounds in the app by selecting **Low**, **Mid**, or **High**.
    - Manage sound volume during notifications:

        - **Turn down music and other sounds**
        - **Pause music**
        - **Do nothing** (music and notifications will play at the same time)

    - Select the language (same language as in the app or a different one). The app supports [voice search](https://yandex.com.tr/support/m-maps/en/object-search.md#voice-search) for Russian and Turkish languages.
    - Select the speaker's voice. By default, it's [Alice](https://yandex.com.tr/support/m-maps/en/alice.md). You can download a voice that you like from the available options. If the downloaded voice doesn't support any annotation, Alice will be used in that case.

## Speeding notifications {#speeding}

To set up the sound notification for speeding:

   Tap **Settings** → **Sounds and alerts**.

1. Enable **Speed limit**.
1. Move the slider to choose the point over the speed limit. If you exceed this value, the app will notify you of the limit and speed cameras.

    To enable speed camera notifications, turn on the **Speed cameras** option.

Check the value you set in **Warn when exceeding speed limit**. For example, you've set the slider to +15 km/h. This means that if there's a 60 km/h section, you'll receive a speed camera notification when your speed reaches 75 km/h.

## Notifications about speed cameras {#cameras}

By default, the app notifies you of all speed cameras. To set up sound notifications:

1. Select the cameras you want to receive notifications about:

    - **Speed traps**
    - **Lane monitoring cameras**
    - **Intersection monitoring cameras**

    You hear notifications about intersection monitoring cameras if your speed is above 30 km/h.

## Notifications about road events {#road-events}

By default, all notifications are on. To set up sound notifications:

1. Select the road events you want to receive notifications about.

    - **Speed bumps**
