# Configuring pre-filling of forms

You can configure a form so that when the user opens it, specified values are automatically inserted into fields or certain answers are pre-selected.

You can use pre-filling:

- To suggest the answer options that you think are preferable or most likely.

- To send auxiliary or technical parameters to [hidden fields in the form](https://yandex.com.tr/support/forms/en/hidden-query.md) (for example, for gathering statistics). 

You can configure pre-felling for **Short answer** and **Long answer** questions directly in the form builder. These include the following question types:
