Connect to Yandex Disk over WebDAV
Use WebDAV to manage your Yandex Disk files directly from Windows File Explorer or macOS Finder. Yandex Disk will appear as a regular folder on your computer.
Starting June 22, 2026, WebDAV access requires a Yandex 360 plan.
When to use this method
When you connect via WebDAV, files remain only in the cloud. You need a stable internet connection to access them. If the connection drops, you won't be able to open your documents.
For most tasks, we recommend using the Yandex Disk application. Unlike WebDAV, the application lets you:
- Save files from the cloud to your computer so you can view and edit them offline.
- Share file links.
- Access shared folders.
- Delete files safely (they go to the Trash, where they can be restored, while files deleted via WebDAV are permanently erased).
- Take screenshots using the built-in editor and automatically save them to Yandex Disk.
You should only set up WebDAV if you prefer not to install a separate application and don't mind these limitations.
Create an app password
To connect Yandex Disk to your computer, you will need a special app password.
For your security, Yandex ID doesn't share your account password with any third-party applications. An app password grants access only to one service — for example, Yandex Disk. Even if someone finds out this password, they won't be able to access your email or entire Yandex account.
- Open Yandex ID.
- Go to Security → Access to your data → App passwords.
- Under Create an app password, select WebDAV.
- Name your app password. For example, enter the name of the application or operating system you're creating it for.
- Tap Next. The app password will appear in a new window. Copy and save it.
Created passwords can only be viewed once. If you forget it, delete the current app password in your Yandex ID settings, create a new one, and update it in your computer's connection settings.
Your account password will remain unchanged, and your files will stay perfectly safe.

Problems and solutions
Wrong username or password
Make sure that there are no extra spaces in your username and that you're entering your app password rather than your Yandex account password.
I forgot my app password
Delete your old app password and create a new one following the instructions above.
Deleted files don't go to the Trash
If you delete files or folders via WebDAV, they're permanently deleted and won't be moved to the Trash. You can't recover them. This is standard WebDAV behavior.
