Tableau
What is Tableau?
Every time you open a new tab or place the cursor in the SmartBox, you will see Tableau — a panel with widgets of your most frequently visited websites. By default, Tableau has widgets for some Yandex services.
To quickly navigate to a site, just click the widget. If a widget leads to a page other than the site's homepage, the landing page name will display on the widget alongside the logo.
You can customize the set of websites that display on Tableau.

Add websites to Tableau
- Open Tableau.
- Click Add under Tableau.
- Enter a site that you want to add to Tableau. You can select a site from the lists of Popular or Recently visited sites, or else enter an address manually.

Sync Tableau
Your Tableau is generated separately for each of your devices (since your favorite sites may differ on each of your devices).
To find out what widgets are pinned to your Tableau on any of your synced devices:
- Click the SmartBox, go to the Other devices tab, and click All tabs under the list. Alternately, you can enter browser://devices-tabs/ in the SmartBox.
- Select the folder with the appropriate device name. A list of sites will appear grouped into two blocks:
- Tableau. Sites pinned to Tableau.
- Open sites. Sites open on tabs.

- Disable Tableau syncing.
-
- Click .
- In the Syncing section, click Show settings.
- Uncheck the Tableau option.
That way the sites that are pinned to your Tableau will not display on your Other devices tab.
- Tableau after reinstalling your OS
-
If you reinstalled your OS and then your browser, Tableau will update and display default widgets. Thanks to syncing, however, you can view the list of sites that you pinned to Tableau before you reinstalled everything. There are two possible outcomes of this process:
- The name of your computer changed after the OS was reinstalled. Syncing is linked to your device name. When you sync a computer under a new name, the browser thinks that it is a new device. That's why the Other devices tab displays a folder with your computer's old name where you can view sites on Tableau.
- The name of your computer didn't change after the reinstallation. In this case, your browser will not think your computer is a new device and will not display a folder containing data from before the re-installation. You can rename your computer by going to Go to the Other devices tab and open the folder with the old name of your computer.
Widgets disappear from Tableau
Widgets displayed Tableau change because the widget list is formed automatically from the pages that you visit most often.
To make a widget stay in the same place, you can pin it:
- Open Tableau.
- Click the Customize layout link in the lower right corner of Tableau.
- Pin the widget by clicking
. When a widget is pinned, it will look like this:
.
- Click Finish.
