# Import data from browsers

[Yandex Browser](https://browser.yandex.com/) can transfer [bookmarks](https://yandex.com.tr/support/browser/en/favourites/izbrannoe-search.md), [browsing history](https://yandex.com.tr/support/browser/en/search-and-browse/history.md), and other settings from another browser installed on your computer.



## Import automatically {#automatic}

After installation, Yandex Browser asks if you want to transfer data from another browser.

- You have a default browser


  You can transfer data from the default browser or select any other browser on your computer.


- You don't have a default browser

   Choose the desired browser installed on your computer and click **Import data**.

The type of data that is imported depends on the operating system and browser it is imported from.

If you chose the browser by mistake, you will not be able to cancel the data import. The data will be added immediately. To delete this data, [delete the current profile](https://yandex.com.tr/support/browser/en/personalization/profile.md#delete), then [create a new one](https://yandex.com.tr/support/browser/en/personalization/profile.md#q1), and [import the data manually](#non-auto) from another browser.

## Canceling automatic import {#cancel}

When installing Yandex Browser, a dialogue opens where you can cancel the automatic import of data from your [main browser](https://yandex.com.tr/support/browser/en/about/install.md#set-default).

1. Click **Skip**.

1. Confirm the restart of Yandex Browser. All imported data will be deleted immediately after the restart.


## Import data manually {#non-auto}

After installing Yandex Browser, you can import settings yourself. For example, you can import data from any browser installed on your computer, or only import some of your data.

If you have already imported data or used Yandex Browser, your data will not be lost when importing it again. The new data will be added to the existing data.

To import data:

1. In the upper-right corner, click **![](../_image/settings-icon.svg)**&nbsp;→ **Settings**.


1. Under **Syncing**, click **Import data**.

1. In the window that opens, select the browser you want to import your data from.

1. Select which data you want to transfer (bookmarks, passwords, and so on).

1. Click **Import**.
