Cookies are small files that the browser uses to record data about sites you've visited. Usually sites save cookies in the user’s browser in order to easily “recognize” the user (for example, to avoid asking for their username and password again after the user recently visited a given site).
Cookies and privacy
Using cookies has some privacy risks. For example, if someone else uses your tablet, and passwords are saved to a cookie file, then this person will be able to log into your accounts on websites. Someone can use your cookies to find out what pages you’ve visited or discover correlations between various pages you’ve viewed.
Delete cookie files
To protect your privacy or to free up memory on your tablet, you can delete all of the cookie files.
- Tap .
- Go to the Privacy section.
- Tap Clear data.
- Enable Cookies.
- Disable all the other options (if you only want to delete cookies).
- Tap Clear.
- Confirm deletion.
