Yandex Browser for mobile automatically detects the language of the loaded page and can translate it into or another language of your choice. The translator can recognize text in images and show the translation on top of the original text.

Yandex Browser translates pages from over 90 languages.
Yandex Browser can translate a site page.
To translate a page from a foreign language into Russian, to the right of the SmartBox, tap → Translate page.
The icon will appear to the right of the SmartBox, and above it, you'll see a translation panel showing the progress.
Change translation language
To translate a page into the language of your choice, select the language you need from the list in the translation panel.
Note
If automatic image translation is enabled in the settings, images are also translated into the new target language. If automatic image translation is disabled, after you change the translation language, tap on the translation bar.
If the Automatic image translation option is disabled, tap the icon in the translation panel above the SmartBox.
To see the original image text, tap . To see the page and the images in their original language, tap on the translation bar.
Note
You can also translate images that are not part of a page. You can translate a photo or image from a device in Yandex Images.
Enable automatic image translation
If you want the browser to translate images automatically when it translates a page:
Tap Меню → → Yandex Translate.

Translate subtitles

Yandex provides subtitles for videos on a number of hosting sites, including Coursera, VK, YouTube, Twitch, Vimeo, and 9GAG.
Yandex Browser supports subtitles for all videos that it can translate. Use it to:
Automatically create and translate subtitles for videos in 8 languages.
Translate existing subtitles from over 90 languages.
To enable and configure subtitles:
In the video, tap .
To configure subtitles, tap and select:
Subtitle language: Select the original language or translation. If the video already has subtitles, you can select the service's subtitles instead of Yandex ones.
Highlight words: The words that are currently being spoken are highlighted. The option is only available for Yandex subtitles in the original language.
Note
To look up the translation of a word in the subtitles, simply click it. The video will pause, and the translation of the word and phrase will appear in a pop-up window. To continue watching, click anywhere inside the video window.
Can’t turn on subtitles with video translation
Tap Меню → → Translate → Translate videos and subtitles and Untranslated subtitles.
If you're watching a video in fullscreen mode or on top of other apps (picture-in-picture), subtitles aren't available. To enable and configure subtitles, return to normal mode. Then you can reopen the video in fullscreen or on top of apps.
How to enable untranslated subtitles
Next to the translation icon, tap .
Enable Subtitles.
In the Language field, select the original language. If the platform has its own subtitles, you can also select them.
